Job Vacancy: Procurement & Logistics Specialist Location: Erbil Employment Type: Full-time About Us: Shandz, founded in 1976, is an established EPC company delivering energy and infrastructure solutions across Iraq. Key Responsibilities: Receive, review, and process approved procurement requests from departments and project sites. Source electrical, mechanical, civil, and general materials, equipment, and services from qualified local and international suppliers. Manage procurement requirements for transmission and distribution lines, substations, and related equipment. Prepare RFQs/RFPs, obtain and evaluate quotations, conduct bid comparisons, and submit procurement recommendations. Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and supplier technical submissions in coordination with Engineering, Projects, QA/QC, and HSE teams. Conduct market research and negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions. Prepare, issue, and follow up on purchase orders, contracts, and all required supporting documentation. Maintain the approved supplier database, build effective supplier relationships, and evaluate performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness. Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, warehouses, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials. Track shipments and coordinate customs clearance and import documentation when required. Resolve procurement, supplier, and delivery issues promptly to prevent project delays. Coordinate with project teams to forecast material requirements and support procurement planning, inventory optimization, and project kickoff activities. Maintain accurate procurement records and trackers and prepare procurement status, cost, and supplier-performance reports. Ensure all activities comply with company policies, approved procedures, contractual requirements, and relevant standards. Support tendering, subcontracting, supplier visits, site inspections, and other related duties assigned by the Procurement & Logistics management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering. Candidates with degrees in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field may be considered if they have strong EPC procurement experience. Minimum of 5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within EPC, construction, power, electrical, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Experience in procuring electrical materials and equipment, as well as tendering, purchasing, supplier negotiation, contract administration, and logistics coordination. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience using ERP systems, preferably Odoo, is an advantage. Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Professional proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
